The last part of the cinque terre ridgeway goes from Riomaggiore over Campiglia to Porto Venere. Between Campiglia an Porto Venere starts the most evocative part of the trail, a spectacular cliff-side path with a magnificent view over the Mediterranean Sea and sometimes even the islands of Elba, Capraia and Korsika.

We (inemmabeil and kath_bene) have chosen the most beautiful spot of this section for our first geocache. The ligurian coast and ridge paths are in any case simply breathtaking, but this view is really something you will never forget in life.

The terrain is 3.5 Stars because the path is 12 km to go (4-5 h), suitable only for hikers in good condition and not for people with vertigo/fear of heights. At some spots, there are really deep precipices down to the sea. Especially at this spot, you can go out on a cliff which is maybe 100 m vertically above the sea. - Breathtaking - tra mare e cielo !

BUT:
THE CACHE IS OF COURSE !!! NOT !!! IN A DANGEROUS AREA, IT IS NEAR THE PATH. YOU CAN VIRTUALLY SIT ON IT. YOU DONT NEED TO TAKE ANY RISK TO FIND THIS CACHE.
We just wanted to lead you to one of the most breathtaking spots we have ever visited.
In contrary to most of the caches we have found in liguria, this is thought to be one with GOOD Quality. It has about 1 litre of space for TBs, GCs, etc. USE IT ! PLEASE hide it after logging.

For the beginning, we have placed a travel bug and a german geocoin along with logbook and pencils.
